Wuhu Rail Transit Line 1 Starts Trial Ride

On September 25, Wuhu Rail Transit Line 1 launched a one-month free trial ride. 10,000 citizen representatives every week and 40,000 people in total will take the lead in experiencing the country’s first unmanned straddling monorail train.

Wuhu Rail transit Line 1, with a total length of about 30 km, runs along the city from south to north and has 24 elevated stations.During the trial period, 7 stations and 6 sections from Jiuzi SquareStation to Tianzhushan Road Station are temporarily open for citizens to experience.Citizens can check in and out at Jiuzi Square Station and Tianzhushan Road Station. Jiuzi Square Station is the only transfer station for Line 1 and Line 2, and it is also the highest and largest frame station on the whole line. The first floor is equipped with station access, stairs and elevators; The second floor is the entrance hall, equipped with automatic ticket machines, electronic road map, security check instrument, gate and other equipment; The third floor is the platform.

Straddling monorail transit system has the characteristics of safety and reliability, low noise, high ride comfort, good lighting effect and so on. It is regarded as a “little train in the sky”. It is not only the carrier of urban public transportation, but also a good place for sightseeing. The design speed of the rail transit is 80 km/h. Thewhole journey of Line 1 takes about 1 hour while that of Line 2 is 30 minutes. This means a half-hour traffic circle centered on Jiuzi Square was formed, with an hourly traffic volume of about 10,000 to 30,000 people, which can quickly solve the rush hour congestion in the downtown area and facilitate life of citizens.
